"Overall the rifle is OK. I have 2 major issues with the rifle. First, the batteries run out quickly. I have tried several batteries, some new, some old, and all last about the same amount of time......not long. Secondly, intermittently while shooting the rifle just won't fire, like it has a dead battery. If I swing it 90 degrees down and pull the trigger, it shoots just fine. Raise it again and nothing. Several times this past weekend I ended up getting burned because of this. I'll be taking it apart soon to see what the problem may be and possibly upgrading some stuff. Overall I'd give it a 3. Nothing worse than pulling the trigger while aimed at a bad guy trying to sneak up on your six and...........nothing happens.
"so i recently bought this gun and i found that it is pretty amazing. my initial reaction when opening the box wasn't actually that excited. in fact some things that you should note about the gun is that the hand guards look to be made of cheap plastic or just feel that way. and to remove the battery you need to physically unscrew the butt plate. (also uses large type battery, caught me by surprise) but other than that the gun is amazing. the accuracy is spectacular and the rate of fire is also spectacular. also note that it only comes with one magazine and its not a high cap but i guess that is for realism.
perfect for any Vietnam load out
"This being a G&P I expected a lot from this gun and rightly so. When I first opened it over a year ago I was very impressed with the build quality. It is a beautiful looking gun. It performance however is where it lacked. First off the butt plate is plastic and is easily broken if not careful and the rubber texture on it is glued on and wears off over time so you'll have to re-glue it every now and then. The first time I skirmished this gun, I thought the accuracy wasn't as good as I thought it should be for an m16 length barrel. Also during that skirmish the piston stripped and had to be replaced. The next time I used it the trigger contacts wore out and had to be replaced. After that, the motor gear wore out and also had to be replaced. After all that I had to put a better barrel in to improve the accuracy. After all of this though, the gun works really well and wears really well since it's full metal. I may have just received a lemon but after all of the kinks were worked out, it's my favorite gun and is used every outing.
Magazine the gun comes with it great
Butt Plate is cheap plastic
Rubber on the Butt Plate comes off easily
