"I bought this as my first blowback pistol. I've always loved the 1911 look and feel. The gun works and looks amazing the only issue I've had with it is after the first game the inner barrel seems to shift upwards awkwardly because if the blow back spring, making it catch and hard to pull back for the first. After the first chambering it does fine.
Everyone else has had problems with mags
As long as you don't over fill it will gas or drop it on the playing field then I've had no problems with them.

Pros
-What you get for price
-easy disasembly
-easy to take of orange tip and apply

Cons
- the upper reciver catches on first chamber
-other people have problem with mags (I havnt)

"I bought this roughly two years ago to use in my backyard as a training aid in lieu of my real RIA 1911 GI. It also gets it use as my dedicated cockroach killer. I have never played airsoft with it. It's survived the 2 years well, at the time that I ordered it I also ordered pretty much every upgrade part available on this site: Angel Custom piston head and rocket valve. RA-tech 6.01 barrel, Guarder 150% recoil/hammer springs, and the reinforced nozzle return spring. I only shot a few mags worth before changing out all of the parts, and honestly can't objectively tell a difference. It's still not very accurate with .2 bbs (hop up off/lowest possible setting) when shooting at a 6" steel plate at about 15 yards. But it is reliable. I swapped out the included extended slide catch with a GI style one made by WE to match my real 1911, but the slide catch doesn't actually lock the slide on the last shot since there isn't enough material to be pushed up by the mag follower (currently attempting to remedy this with some JB weld). Iíve also replaced each valve in my magazines with the Angel Custom high flow valve in an attempt to fix some sticking valve issues the OEM ones had. Seems good so far. A big plus is that it fits into my custom molded kydex OWB holster, and the mags also fit into my kydex molded mag carrier, though a little tight. Pretty good stand in for the real thing albeit a tad lighter in heft, and obviously the shooting dynamic is completely different. The gas consumption is still fairly inefficient with my upgrades, but propane is cheap. Build quality is decent for airsoft and finish quality is what I would call par or subpar. The frame/slide finish is a nicer matte parkerizing look-alike but all of the small parts on it look like they were painted with cheap paint and it rubs off very easily. All in all, definitely worth the $90 bucks in OEM form, probably not worth the almost $160 total cost with the upgrades.
TLDR summary:
Pros:
- Itís cheap
- Mags are cheap ($15 on sale usually)
- Itís pretty much dead on dimensions-wise with a real 1911, will fit in holsters made for a 5Ē 1911 without a rail
- Fairly powerful, recoil is enjoyable
- Easy to maintain
- If you have a real 5Ē 1911, you would like this

Cons:
- Gas efficiency is poor even after upgrades
- Not going to win any marksmanship contests even with a 6.01 RA-tech barrel
- Finish on small parts will come off with ease

"This is a great pistol. It's weighted correctly, sized correctly, good authentic feel to the grip and to cocking it-- plenty of functioning safeties and slide-catch, and comfortable enough to hold and use. What more can you ask for from a good gun? Well, the reason this review isnt 5 stars is simply because the paint caught me off guard. Every gun I've gotten from WE-Tech (Lugers, Browning HP, etc) have had smooth metallic-black paint, while this one comes with a somewhat rough matte-black paint. That's not a bad thing, but it feels like i could scratch the paint off with a fingernail-- like its flaky-- and it gives the entire gun a more rattly, plastic feeling than anything else. Don't get me wrong, though! This gun is metal, and its SOLID. The only internal issue I have is an aesthetic one, and it's because I dislike the blue gas bit inside the slide-- which is fair, because I originally saw it depicted in the gun's preview images, so it's not like it was a big surprise.

FOR ANYONE WANTING TO REMOVE THE ORANGE TIP, IN ORDER TO INSERT THE INCLUDED THREAD-ADAPTER OR TO SCREW IN A SUPPRESSOR: **This has worked in less than 10 minutes for ANY WE-TECH pistol I've used.**-- simply field-strip the pistol, taking out the external barrel, and place this into a small container of acetone. If you do not have pure acetone available, then use nail-polish remover that includes acetone. Let it sit and "dissolve" in this for a bit until the plastic becomes soft and easily malleable. Then, wipe off the metal portion of the barrel-- making sure to leave the plastic tip damp-- and heat the entire thing with a hairdryer. Get it nice and hot, not to the point of burning you but it should at least prick a bit when you touch it. Then, carefully remove the tip with a pair of pliers, being sure not to snap/bend/break the plastic-- if you find yourself turning or tugging and only damaging the plastic, rather than not removing it, re-place it in acetone for a bit longer and restart the process. Twist the tip out counter-clockwise, and if you've done it correctly, it'll come right out. ** ONLY REMOVE THE TIP IF YOU PLAN ON USING SILENCERS, AND DON'T TAKE NON-TIPPED PISTOLS OUT IN PUBLIC AS IT'S AGAINST THE LAW IF YOU'VE RECEIVED A GUN WITH AN ORANGE TIP.*

Only other advice I can give is to be super-duper careful if your gun (such as any of WE-Tech's Lugers) have paint on the barrel, as excessive acetone dissolution or the slightest scratching from your pliers will chip the paint off and reveal its metallic-silver underneath.

The pros to this approach rather than doing one or the other (heat OR acetone) is that the acetone will begin to dissolve the plastic, which helps with the super-glue but makes the plastic too malleable to twist or wrench out. The heat from the dryer will not only re-harden the plastic, but will heat up the acetone already on the glue/plastic to amplify the heat it receives, giving a nice two-combo-punch to twist the tip out.
