Armee-Universal-Gewehr (Universal Army Rifle) or AUG is a futuristic assault rifle developed during the 1960s in Austria to replace the aging 7.62mm FAL automatic rifles in service at the time. Often considered as the first successful bullpup rifle, the AUG was indeed well ahead of its time as far as concept and design; it was highly advanced when it first went into service in the late 1970s.Its bullpup design which moves the core of the rifles action behind the trigger allows for the use of a full length rifle barrel in a weapon with the ergonomics of a sub-machine gun. Some other significant features include fully ambidextrous controls and reversible charging handle and shell ejection port allowing the rifle to be configured for both left and right handed shooters. The unique two stage trigger allows the user to fire in semi-auto and full-auto without needing to manipulate a selector switch; for semi-automatic fire, the operator will just pull the trigger half way and if fully-automatic fire was necessary, the operator needs to only pull the trigger all the way back. Chambered in the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge for its ease of use and handling, the futuristic family of rifles in the AUG line can be quickly adapted to accommodate a wide variety of roles in the ever changing battlefield with just a quick swap of the barrel. The AUG is definitely a well-rounded combat weapon with a proven track record that can stand its own even with todays modern combat rifles.Features:

"A good gun for the money for sure. Granted, it's still a $150 gun, so out of the box it won't match up with most guns on the field, especially at range. This, however, is easily fixed with a tightbore barrel (509mm), metal hop up, and a good bucking (I use a maple leaf 75degree). Turned a decent starter AEG into an intimidating DMR. The gun is mostly pretty good quality, except for the stock hop-up (brittle plastic) and the wobbly and delicate foregrip, which broke off after the first day I used it. Also, the outer barrels on these guns are notoriously shaky. A dab of gorilla glue fixed that. The FPS is low compared to the advert (290-330fps) with .2g BBs. A guarder piston/cylinder upgrade definitely helped out. Now chrono's at 375- 410fps on semi with a 9.6. Great buy for a tinkerer who wants a bullpup at a cheap price, and has some patience.
"After two hours of use the barrel flew out and the fps count is misleading. I got 320 fps, far below what is advertised. Don't trust this brand buy a different AUG and you'll get more bang for your buck.
"Great gun for the price. Very easy to disassemble and reassemble (so if you ever wanted to put in better internals). Kept it stock for a great while, and worked out great. I love the bullpup style, long inner barrel without a much larger weapon. I use it on indoor fields and I could typically hit people well across the field, while still being able to move through the smaller spaces with ease. Overall amazing AEG, would definitely recommend.
