A variation of the popular SVD Airsoft Sniper Rifle, the SVD II is a joint project between Matrix and A&K to bring you a re-designed reinforced model of the A&K SVD. Matrix had produced their variation of this legendary sniper rifle in all stealthy black furniture. By utilizing a manual cocking, spring powered system they are able to produce very consistent results with every shot. This is a key requirement for any serious sniper rifle. The Airsoft SVD II Dragunov Series comes in three different colors to accommodate any player on any battlefield. As a sniper, you rely on using all elements of stealth to get the job done. The Matrix Airsoft SVD Dragunov Sniper Rifle Series comes in all the colors you'll need to stay hidden and stay on target. The SVD II is 100% compatible with the previous version with capability to handle some extreme upgrade kits that will be released in the future such as the Co2 kit. You may see the Matrix SVD II packaged in the B&W boxes when they are manufactured in Taiwan instead of China now for better quality control and performance.SVD II vs First gen SVD:
The previous version had an inherited issue of excess wobbling and magazine not being a tight fit. The Ver. II has more reinforced parts and enhanced performance. Less gun wobbling and magazines have a tighter fit to resolve the "dropping magazine" issue with the previous version found on many Airsoft guns. To use gen1 mag on genII, you may need to pull the mag release to lock in the magazine, but it will be a much more secure fit perfect for sniping. "The first and foremost thing that I must clear up with this gun: IT WILL DOUBLE FEED. I've seen many "macho" reviewers saying how it only double feeds if you are weak and can't pull it back in one go- this is NOT the case. It will double feed, and it will continue to do so, unless you get a better hopup from what other sources say.
Now that is done, the gun is beautiful with a good weight, i'm not a scrub so 9lbs isn't bad at all. The infamous mag catch is just as everyone says, a bit of a hassle but not enough to actually take away from the gun. However the magazine provided with the gun is definitely subpar, so but a spare one. Hopefully it's spring is stronger.
Now although the it does double feed consistently without fail, when it does shoot, I can agree with everyone else. ACCURATE. I nailed someone from over 250ft away (after a long struggle of fighting the 20mph wind) and it was glorious. The bolt is indeed just a tad hard to pull, but certainly not because of the spring. Get a good lubing and it's easy peasy.
All in all, beautiful, strong, but inconsistent. Upgrades would make her shine.
"Great gun alone, but better with upgrades
M190 spring (and spacers)
stainless steel 6.03mm tightbore
Lonex bucking "W" or Madbull red bucking
PPS reinforced piston
PPS reinforced sear
Stock piston cylinder and nozzle
This gun fired:
using 0.43g bbs-385fps
very accurate up to 300ft
"had this gun for almost a month now and really enjoy it. i love how accurate it is without any upgrading. it is a great beginners rifle and won't let you down easily. i didn't bother buying the overpriced scope that was recommended, stead i bought an okay AIM 6X40 scope, which i find the best for this range. nevertheless, i have had a couple problems with feeding. such as, it would either get jammed (might be a bb quality issue) double feed, or simply won't shoot because the bb won't get pushed out of the mag. i intend to buy another mag for my rifle because even though i like the one i have, i feel there are better ones out there. my favorite moment with my gun is shooting my friend between the eyes from 100 feet away. i will definitely recommend this gun to you buyers out there and enjoy sniping
